Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Kalvin Phillips for his performance in their 4-3 Championship defeat against Millwall on Saturday.

United appeared set for victory afters staging a brilliant second-half comeback after going into half-time two goals and a man down following the 37th minute dismissal of skipper Liam Cooper for a straight red card.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who was handed his first league start since November, missed two good opportunities to put Leeds ahead when the game was 0-0 but he made amends with two second-half goals either side of Kemar Roofe’s 11th of the season as Leeds took a 3-2 lead.

However, Millwall’s late pressure paid dividends as Tom Elliott’s late strike was followed by a deflected winner from Jed Wallace.

United fans raved about the recovery after completely writing off their side on social media at the halfway point of the match.

But supporters were not entirely happy with the performances of their players, with central midfielder Phillips among those who bore some criticism.

The academy product was booked for kicking the ball away late on and will now miss the team’s next two matches through suspension in another damning indictment of Leeds’ disciplinary troubles.
