Leeds United are reportedly trying to wrap up a deal for Club Brugge defender Laurens De Bock – and the club’s supporters on Twitter are hopeful a deal can be pushed over the line.
Belgian news outlet HLN have reported that the Whites are in talks with Brugge about trying to sign their 25-year-old left-back.
It is understood that the two teams are trying to reach an agreement over a potential deal and that the Belgian club are looking to recuperate £2.66million.
The report also details that De Bock has already agreed personal terms with Leeds and is keen to complete a switch to Elland Road.
Leeds United fans on social media are delighted with reports suggesting they are pursing De Bock and feel he can make a significant impact on the squad during their promotion hunt.
One fan even suggested that he can surpass Gaetano Berardi in the pecking order and Thomas Christiansen’s side have certainly been in the market for a new left-back.
Berardi has filled the position so far this campaign, but is a right-sided defender by trade and recently admitted the club needed a new signing on the left flank.

Laurens De Bock looks like a proper Lethal Weapon/Die Hard henchman. If he plays like one too we won’t miss Berardi for long. #lufc https://t.co/KS21YbtfnX

De Bock is an experienced defender that has made 177 appearances for Brugge and featured in European competitions.
The attack-minded full-back is renowned for his high work-rate and previously helped his current side win the league in the 2015/16 season.
He has featured just eight times across all competitions this campaign and could be on the brink of switch to England for the first tie in his career.
