Leeds United fans have delivered mixed verdicts on Twitter to speculation they are about to sign striker Sam Dalby from Leyton Orient.
Football Insider claim that Dalby, 18, is heading to Leeds to undergo a medical on Tuesday and put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract.
It is said that the powerful young forward will sign on Tuesday in a whirlwind deal if all goes according to plan and link up with the Under-23s with a view to competing for a position in Thomas Christiansen’s first team squad.
Dalby broke into the Leyton Orient aged 17 last season and made a big impact but he could not stop the club from suffering relegation from League Two into the non-league.
Leeds fans have been calling for the club to strengthen their forward ranks this month after failing to score in three consecutive league matches before Saturday’s 4-3 defeat to Millwall.
A section of the supporters are disappointed that the club are set to recruit yet another youthful player rather than a proven one who can immediately strengthen the first team.

We seem to be dissipating whatever transfer funds we have in small packages for future potential. Surely better to pay the going rate for a finished article goalscorer?

I just dont get what the owner is thinking, Its a well known fact investing in youth or planning for the future is a silly idea. You should only ever think about the next 6 months. Radz should give good old Pete a ring and ask some advise. #lufc
