Leeds United suffered a 1-0 defeat against Ipswich on Saturday afternoon in the Championship – and the club’s supporters were highly critical of defender Vurnon Anita for his display.
The 28-year-old got a rare start for the Whites as their dreadful start to 2018 continued with another setback in the league.
Leeds left Portman Road with no points to show as a long-range strike from Ipswich midfielder Bersant Celina separated the teams.
Thomas Christiansen’s side were up against it after Eunan O’Kane was sent off for an alleged headbutt and the 10-men were unable to hold on.
The Yorkshire club were unable to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat against Newport last weekend and the result meant they missed the chance to climb back into the league’s play-off positions.
Leeds fans on social media were furious with Anita for his performance and feel he really struggled to make an impact.
The Dutchman started at left-back before being substituted off in the second-half, but was unable to impress fans with his opportunity in the XI.

Anita isn’t really a footballer is he? Like it’s a practical joke? We should’ve realised when we saw he’s built like a 13 year old girl. #LUFC

Totally agree Lyndsey totally agree. He's not quick enough or good enough in my books him & Anita subs bench for me week in week out. We need strength and speed in midfield and defence.

Anita has been on the fringes of the Leeds team for most of the season and was given a chance to show his worth against Ipswich, with senior ace Luke Ayling recently suffering a season-ending injury.
Left-back Laurens De Bock has arrived at Elland Road as a January signing from Club Brugge and he is expected to force his way into the side on a regular basis.
That could leave Anita once again struggling for game time and he had a mixed time since his move on a free transfer from Newcastle in the summer.
