Tottenham fans took to Twitter to rave about Harry Winks after his midfield masterclass in their 3-0 Champions League win against Apoel Nicosia on Wednesday night.
A much-changed Spurs side, featuring eight changes from the XI that drew 1-1 against Watford last Saturday, put the Cypriot visitors to the sword as they topped off a memorable group stage campaign with a fifth win out of six.
Spurs had already secured first place in the group before Wednesday’s game and Pochettino opted to give some of his fringe players a start.
Winks was recalled to the team after being on the bench at Vicarage Road and responded with an outstanding display decorated with neat passing and clever touches.
The academy product played a key role in the wonderfully crafted opener when his skimming pass sent Serge Aurier bounding up the right flank to tee up Fernando Llorente, whose brilliant first touch teed him up for his first Tottenham goal.
Further strikes from Son Heung-Min and Georges-Kevin NKoudou emphasised the gulf between the two teams, and Spurs fans were particularly enthused by the performance of Winks as they assessed a fine finish to the group stages for their side.

Well done @SpursOfficial – Foyth, Llorente, Son and Winks all very good. Nice to see Llorente & NKoudou get their 1st goals. Aurier and or Rose could’ve both gone though? #coys 16pts in that group is some feat. #UCL
