Italian giants AC Milan are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele, according to Alfredo Pedulla.
The reliable Italian journalist has claimed on his personal website that Milan have cast their eye over the 30-year-old and have been alerted to the fact that he has just 18 months remaining on his current contract.
It is understood that the Serie A club are eyeing up a potential move for the Belgium international, but there is no indication as to whether that would be a January or summer swoop.
The report details that Milan are monitoring the central midfielder due to his mixed form this season.
Dembele is certainly still a key part of the Spurs team and a mainstay in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI this campaign, despite struggling with a foot injury at times.
He has become adored by supporters over the years due to his powerful displays in the middle of the park and he is quite often named as the toughest player in the squad by his teammates.
Good move for Spurs?
Spurs need to keep their key players in January and it is imperative that Dembele remains.
The powerhouse is still yet to quite hit top form this campaign, but there is no doubt when he plays well then the team are a much better outfit.
He has made 18 appearances so far this season after getting over injury and is quite often the man Pochettino turns to in order to dominate the middle of the park.
Dembele has been without his key partner Victor Wanyama this season and that is perhaps a reason in his mixed form, but if those two are reunited in the New Year then it should hugely improve results as Spurs look to break into the top four.

It seems unlikely that Spurs would be willing to let fan favourite Dembele leave and there is no concrete interest from Milan at this moment in time.
The only concern for supporters will be the fact that his contract is running down and the north London club have been linked with potential moves for midfielders in January.
