Leeds United have made contact over the possible January signing of Heracles attacker Brandley Kuwas, according to Football Insider.

The football news site claim that the Championship promotion hopefuls have placed the Dutch wide forward on their list of January transfer targets.

Football Insider report that Leeds officials have made contact with Kuwas’ representatives to sound him out over a possible move to Elland Road.

It is said that scouts from the Yorkshire giants have made regular checks on the 25-year-old this season and they are “hoping to steal a march on their rivals in the race for the winger’s signature”.

Kuwas has caught the eye for Heracles so far this season and three goals and nine assists in just 14 Eredivisie games.

Good move for Leeds?

Yes. Kuwas is a right-sided attacker with a sound track record in a major European league. His goals record is nothing to shout about, but he is something of an assist machine, with nine league assists already this season. That is massively impressive for a club placed 10th in the Dutch top tier. Leeds’ right-sided attacker for most of the season has been Ezgjan Alioski, who has taken over from 2016-17 mainstays Hadi Sacko and Kemar Roofe. But competition for places is needed, despite the promising signs of Pawel Cibicki out wide in the last two matches.

Likely to happen?

Football Insider is a reliable source of transfer information, and it is safe to say that Leeds are watching the wide man closely. Kuwas is the right age and profile of the type of player the club have signed since Andrea Radrizzani took full control in May. This is a definite go-er.
