Mark Warburton has been sacked as manager of Nottingham Forest ahead of their Championship clash against Leeds United on Monday, according to a reliable journalist.
Nottingham Post correspondent Paul Taylor reported on his personal Twitter account on Sunday morning that Warburton has been dismissed in the wake of Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Sunderland.

Taylor added in a follow-up message that coach Gary Brazil will be in charge of the Forest team for their fixture at Elland Road on Monday afternoon.
There has been no official confirmation about Warburton from Forest but that is expected to be imminent, with his assistant David Weir also departing the City Ground.

Ex-Rangers manager Warburton has been given the axe by Forest after a miserable run of just one win in nine games.
The east Midlands club offered him a way back in to English football earlier this year but things there quickly turned sour and he leaves with them 14th in the Championship.
OPINION
It will surely aid Leeds that Forest are on a horror run and will not immediately benefit from a new manager bounce on New Year’s Day for the clash between two of the division’s most prestigious clubs. There are fine lines between success and failure at the highest level, and Warburton is a victim of that as the former European Cup winners embark on yet another new manager search. Intriguingly, Forest are nine points off the drop zone, which suggests they still harbour hopes that a new manager can guide them into the play-off spots. That is Leeds’ aim this season and they are well placed to do so, holding on to fifth position despite Saturday’s defeat to bottom club Birmingham.
