Leeds United slumped to a shock 1-0 defeat courtesy of bottom of the league Birmingham City on Saturday, and it surely gave Thomas Christiansen a lot to think about.

The Whites had recently been in impressive form to move into the play-off places, and not many were expecting them to have problems when they traveled to face Birmingham City on Saturday.

However, Christiansen’s men were outplayed in the first-half and lucky to go in to the break on level terms.

While it looked like they hadn’t gotten away with a bad performance as they continued to struggle against Birmingham City in the second-half, it turns out the Whites aren’t that lucky.

With four minutes left to go, Jacques Ilonda Maghoma tapped home a rebound after Felix Wiedwald have saved an exquisite shot from Jota.

Leeds now sit fifth in the table only one point clear of Aston Villa who are perched just outside the play-off positions.

The Whites are next in action against Nottingham Forest on New Years’ Day, hosting them at Elland Road.

This Is Futbol has picked out three major talking points from Leeds’ defeat, which includes why Christiansen was right about a player that fans previously demanded to see.
