Leeds United would have felt confident about getting a result against Birmingham City given their recent results, but it wasn’t to be as they slumped to a surprise 1-0 defeat.

Despite sitting bottom of the league, Birmingham City were the better team in the first-half, and to a lesser extent the second-half.

Steve Cotterill’s side have struggled for goals this season and it continued, because if they would have had a better finisher, Leeds would have gone into the break behind.

However, this wasn’t the case and the Whites had the second-half to improve their performance.

Leeds United were unable to improve enough in order to gain control in the game against Birmingham City, though they saw more of the ball in the second-half.

Birmingham City were quick to close down any developing Leeds’ attack and the players were struggling to deal with a lack of space to create chances.

Jacques Ilonda Maghoma ended up scoring with six minutes left to go, as he tapped home a rebound, to ensure Leeds left with zero points from the game.

Here, This Is Futbol rates the Leeds players out of 10 for their performances against Birmingham City, with several mainstays collecting low marks and the highest points going to one of Thomas Christiansen’s substitutes.
