Newcastle United should consider a major swoop to land Leeds United sensation Samuel Saiz due his brilliant form so far this season.

The Magpies are awaiting Amanda Staveley’s takeover after widespread reports and the club’s manager Rafael Benitez could be given a decent transfer kitty in January if it happens in time.

Newcastle need to improve their squad in the New Year to avoid a relegation battle and must look to find a creative maestro in the final third to help unlock defences.

The Premier League outfit are under pressure after four consecutive defeats and a lack of goals in their side is a glaring issue.

Leeds playmaker Saiz could be the perfect solution for Benitez’s side and he has been lighting up the Championship this campaign since his summer move to Elland Road.

The 26-year-old predominantly plays in the number 10 role behind the striker and the attacking midfielder has all the tools to be a star in the Premier League.

He has excellent technical ability, an eye for goal and has looks a cut above the rest in the Championship.

Saiz has made 19 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring nine goals and supplying four assists as he has made a seamless transition to his first taste of English football.

The creative Spanish maestro could be the missing link in the Newcastle team and they are without that bit of star quality in their team right now.

Saiz is miles better that current Newcastle playmaker Ayoze Perez, who has become a big favourite of Benitez during his time at St James’ Park.

The Leeds man would make a much greater difference than his Spanish counterpart due to his goal contributions and looks destined to end up in the top flight.

Newcastle must strike in January if possible to sign the new Elland Road favourite as his price is only going to rocket up if his form continues for the entire season in the Championship.

The Magpies need to splash the cash on a few individual players that can lift their side to the next level and offering Leeds money they can’t refuse for Saiz would be an excellent piece of business.

Leeds will hope that their owner Andrea Radrizzani can dig his claws in to keep their star player, but attention from top-flight clubs is inevitable given his performances and they risk losing him if a promotion bid fades away.
