Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give the thumbs up after the club announced they have signed powerhouse striker Ryan Edmondson from York City.
Non-league York revealed on their official Twitter account at Wednesday lunchtime that the strapping teenager, 16, has completed a move to the Championship promotion hopefuls.
Edmonson, who has spent the last two years in City’s academy, has signed scholarship terms with Leeds.

York manager Martin Gray hailed the strapping striker as a future Premier League player and predicted he will be a brilliant signing for Leeds.
“He’s got all the tools,” Gray told the official York website. “There’s so much to work with. He’s six feet four or five, quick, and very aggressive.
“He’s not like a lot of modern-day Academy players. He is very much ‘old school’. There is a long way to go to polish up his technical side but, hopefully, we will see an outstanding centre forward in the future.”
Edmondson will be expected to link up with Leeds’ Under-18s and Under-23s sides as he hones a game that has already made him the third youngest player in York’s history.
United supporters expressed their delight at the capture of an exciting young talent, hailing him as a youngster of “great talent” with many impressive attributes.

He’s an awesome player and he wouldn’t be phased if in the starting line up. The lad thrives on pressure.

Yes. Could be the English version of Ronaldo (the Brazilian version). On the other hand, I’ve never seen him play, so who knows…
