Ezgjan Alioski delivered an upbeat Twitter message on Friday night as he urged Leeds United to get back to winning ways in their Championship clash against Brentford.

The Macedonia international has been a mainstay of the team that has slumped alarmingly over the last month after an excellent start to the season.

Leeds’ midweek defeat to Derby County was their sixth loss in seven matches in all competitions, five of which have come in their last six league fixtures.

Alioski has started 13 of Leeds’ 15 Championship games in 2017-18 following his summer arrival from Lugano but his form has been so poor in recent games that many have called for him to be axed for the clash against-form Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

But the attacking midfielder strongly suggested with the upbeat message on his personal Twitter account that he has been selected in the starting XI once again for the Griffin Park fixture.

“Teamwork will do the trick, let’s turn it around away at Brentford,” Alioski exclaimed in the message to Leeds and their supporters.

OPINION

Alioski has a habit of delivering upbeat Twitter messages on the eve of the matches for which he has been selected in the starting XI. On the few occasions he has been left out, the winger has stayed quiet. Time will tell, but this suggests that Alioski has been given the nod by manager Thomas Christiansen that he will keep his place at Brentford tomorrow. If that proves to be the case, the Macedonian will be a fortunate man. His form has been dreadful in recent matches, as his encouraging early-season displays have given way to a series of shockers.
