Mauricio Pochettino is set to overhaul the Tottenham starting XI for their Champions League showdown against Real Madrid after consecutive defeats.

Spurs could make five changes to the side that lost 1-0 in the Premier League against Manchester United on Saturday, which followed their League Cup elimination at the hands of West Ham.

Senior quintet Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Son-Heung Min could be axed from the side that narrowly lost at Old Trafford.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side welcome La Liga champions and European Cup holders Real Madrid to Wembley Stadium as they look to seal their place in the knockout stages of the competition.

The North London club produced a stellar performance against Madrid a fortnight ago at the Bernabeu and came away with a 1-1 draw, in a match where they could have easily taken all three points.

Both teams are level on points in the group but Spurs will pick their strongest possible team to beat the holders and enhance their chances of finishing in first place.

This is Futbol names the expected Tottenham starting line-up, which includes five changes from the weekend and a likely recall for Danny Rose.
