Neil Redfearn has insisted that Leeds United should not sack manager Thomas Christiansen despite his side’s poor form.

The Whites are currently 10th-placed in the Championship table during the international break and have fallen a long way since they were top of the table in September.

The Yorkshire giants have lost six of their last seven league games and the pressure is growing on the manager.

Leeds’ most recent result was a 3-1 away loss to Brentford and they are now three points adrift of the play-off spots.

Redfearn believes that sacking Christiansen would be the wrong move and that he needs time to revive their form.

“I wouldn’t sack Christiansen, no way. To throw it all away just doesn’t make sense. Leeds need to find a way to get back to winning ways,” Redfearn told Radio Yorkshire.

OPINION

It is no surprise that Christiansen’s position at Elland Road is currently under threat and his team’s form has been absolutely dreadful. The 44-year-old is set to receive no favours after the internationals too as they have very tough fixtures against Middlesbrough and Wolves ahead of them. However, he made a great start to life at Leeds and fans were encourage by what they saw in the early stages of his tenure. Christiansen’s team have not yet lost tough of the top six and it makes sense to give him at least until the new year to get the Whites back in the promotion mix. Many of the key Leeds first teamers have seen their own individual form dip in recent weeks and they now need to stand up.
