Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to call for Aitor Karanka to replace Thomas Christiansen as manager and end the team’s alarming slump.
The United faithful have identified the Spaniard, 44, as the man they want to take over in the dugout after seven defeats in nine league matches left Christiansen’s job under threat.
Karanka has been out of work since resigning at Middlesbrough in March and recently rejected the chance to take over at Birmingham following the sacking of Harry Redknapp.
The Sun report that Sheffield Wednesday are keeping close tabs on Karanka and he has also been strongly linked to the vacant Sunderland post.
Karanka spent four years at the Riverside Stadium and steered the team to promotion from the Championship in 2015-16.
Leeds fans believe he could do a similar job at Elland Road and a section of fans took to social media to urge their club to line him up to replace Christiansen.
