Lech Poznan attacker Kamil Jozwiak has told the club that he wants to join Leeds United, according to a spokesman for the Polish outfit.

Karol Klimczak revealed earlier this week that United have had a £180,000 bid rejected for the right-winger after he snubbed the offer of a contract extension.

Poznan spokesman Lukasz Borowicz has now gone a step further by reporting on his personal Twitter account that Jozwiak has made it clear through his father and agent that he is keen on a transfer to Elland Road.

“During the meeting, the agent and father reported that they were not interested in the club’s offer and would like to transfer the player to Leeds United.”

Jozwiak has made seven appearances for Poznan this season, scoring two goals and supplying two assists.

The Polish outfit have an option to extend his contract for a further season but Jozwiak wants out when he contract expires next summer.

Good move for Leeds?

Aged 19, Jozwiak represents one for the future and it is difficult to see him making an immediate impact for Thomas Christiansen’s side. A versatile winger who can play on either flank, but is predominantly a right-winger, the Pole is not a regular at Poznan, which means he would be unlikely to walk straight into the Leeds team. What the struggling side require in January who are proven performers who can hit the ground running. Nevertheless, the Yorkshire giants are in need of a right-sided player who can deliver the goods more often than the likes of Ezgjan Alioski, Hadi Sacko and Kemar Roofe.

Likely to happen?

Leeds signed 16 new senior players during the summer and a further seven for their Under-23s squad. It appears that Jozwiak has been targeted with a view to joining their development squad and, given his relatively low value, a relatively cheap deal could be secured imminently. The young Pole could sign a pre-contract with United from 1 January onwards and the signs are increasingly that he will do so.
