Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has described Tottenham ace Harry Kane as a “great player” as his reputation in world football continues to grow.

The 24-year-old has attracted praise from one of the best midfielder’s in the business, who plays for a Madrid side that been linked with signing the Spurs talisman in the future.

He is currently in great form in front of goal and has 13 goals in 12 games for the North London club this season.

Kane has been asked to prove himself at the top level as Spurs look to win silverware and he has continued being prolific in the Premier League, while also netting five Champions League goals so far.

Kroos has talked up the quality of centre-forward Kane and the duo recently clashed in the Champions League stages, with a second match scheduled for 1 November.

“He (Kane) is a great player, you don’t score so many goals in the Premier League if you’re not a good striker,” Kroos told talkSPORT correspondent Ian Abrahams, as cited by Soundcloud.

OPINION

Kane put in another top performance at the weekend as he inspired Spurs to a 4-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League. The striker scored two and assisted another as he proved too much for the Liverpool defence to handle. He has won the golden boot in England for the past two consecutive seasons and once again appears to be in the running as he continues to tear apart opponents. Kane could get a rare night off on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup fourth round against West Ham and resting him might be a smart idea to keep him fresh for the league. Meanwhile, teammate Fernando Llorente would be a good replacement in the XI and look to score his first goal for Spurs.
