Kemar Roofe has named Leeds United teammate Hadi Sacko as the quickest player in the squad.

Roofe revealed to LUTV that the 23-year-old is the fastest at Elland Road, while also giving a special mention to defender Vernon Anita.

Sacko made be blessed with blistering pace, but has endured a difficult start to the season.

The French attacker spent last season on loan with the Whites and made a permanent switch from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.

He featured 42 times during the last campaign and was a regular feature under Garry Monk, but has struggled since the arrival of new boss Thomas Christiansen.

Sacko had already made his permanent deal before the new manager was appointed and is yet to fully convince him of his quality.

Christiansen clearly doesn’t fancy the right winger right now as he has only used him twice in Championship so far, with both of them substitute roles.

He has got two matches under his belt in the EFL Cup, but is currently down the pecking order in terms of wide players.

Sacko will have have his work cut out if he is to overtake the likes of Roofe, Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas.

OPINION

Sacko’s recent demise at Leeds is a bit of a surprise as he is someone that could fit in well to Christiansen’s style. He offers genuine pace and high work-rated in the wide areas, but is yet to convince the manager he deserves a starting XI role in the league. The 23-year-old could still be a big player for the Whites this season if he keeps knocking on the door and impressing in training. He was used as a substitute against Sheffield Wednesday before the international break and didn’t have much of a chance to impact the game as they lost 3-0. However, he should get more opportunities as the form dips of some teammates and he must be ready to pounce.
