David Prutton has predicted Leeds to draw when they host Sheffield United Friday night in the Championship.

The Whites welcome their Yorkshire rivals to Elland Road as fourth play third in the league.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have the opportunity to close the gap on the front three if they win and will be buoyed by their 3-0 away victory over Bristol City in their last game.

They did suffer a mid-week 3-1 defeat to Leicester in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, but the manager made serval changes to his side.

Meanwhile, third-placed Sheffield United will move to the top of the Championship table with a win after their brilliant start to the campaign.

Sky Sports pundit Prutton has tipped a 2-2 scoreline between the two teams on Friday and believes there will be plenty of goals in an open match.

“What a game we have in store on Friday night!” Prutton wrote in his column for Sky Sports.

“Leeds should be feeling confident again after winning at Bristol City last week, and that should have helped ease the tension among the home fans ahead of this game.

“Sheffield United could go top with a victory, and you don’t doubt now that Chris Wilder will go there to win the game.

“It should be open, entertaining and high scoring, but I can’t separate them.”

OPINION

This is a huge game for the respective teams in their hunt for promotion and both will still believe that the automatic spots are still in reach. Leeds will hope they turned the corner with their win over Bristol City and now need to back it up at home. Christiansen decided to rest big hitters such as Samuel Saiz and Liam Cooper in mid-week, meaning they should be fresh for Friday night. The Whites will be expecting a very difficult match against a defensively resolute Sheffield United, but will be looking to make home advantage count.
