Leeds United pair Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Pontus Jansson have both been included in the Championship team of the month for September.

WhoScored.com have revealed the best Championship XI for September using their statistical ratings.

Whites defender Jansson has featured with a 7.67 rating after playing in four of the five league games, helping keep two clean sheets in the process.

Meanwhile, centre-forward Lasogga also played in four league games for September and showed his quality in attack.

The 25-year-old scored three times and assisted another three during last month to help him make a brilliant start at Elland Road following his season-long loan switch from Hamburg.

Leeds have been defensively strong this year and a lot of credit has to go down to colossus Jansson in the heart of the back-line.

The 26-year-old Swede is a no-nonsense centre-back that looks good enough to play in the Premier League.

Lasogga has also made a huge impact on the Leeds side and looks like being a genius signing made by manager Thomas Christiansen.

The Whites fans will have been fearful after losing striker Chris Wood to Burnley in the summer, but their new attacker has looked equally as impressive.

Lasogga has hit the ground running in English football and has the physical strength to bully defenders.

OPINION

Leeds are currently going through a difficult spell after two consecutive defeats in the league before the international break and will need their star man to step up when domestic football resumes. Lasogga can certainly be a key man in a promotion hunt and has already shown how clinical can be in front of goal. The German also showed he has gritty side to his game and continued to work hard even during the recent defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. He looks to be a stunning signing by the manager and can definitely look to get 20-plus goals this year.
