Gaetano Berard has revealed that Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen didn’t say a word to the players in the wake of the defeat to Reading.

The Whites suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at home to Reading on Saturday and continued their poor run of form in the Championship.

The Yorkshire giants have now lost three consecutive league matches and are sixth-placed in the table.

Berardi was asked how the Leeds manager responded in the dressing room to the loss and he explained that Christiansen didn’t speak to them.

“After the game he (Christiansen) didn’t speak, he just spoke after the first-half,” Berardi told LUTV.

Christiansen made a blistering start to his career at Elland Road as Leeds were the early pacesetters in the Championship, but a recent blip has dented momentum.

They have now suffered consecutive losses to Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff to see them slip down the table.

The Whites remain inside the play-off spots after the opening 12 games and will be looking for an instant reaction against Bristol City next weekend.

OPINION

Christiansen has made a positive start to life in English football and his silent treatment with the Leeds players shows a lot about his style. They will realise their standards have slipped recently and a number of individuals were well below par against Reading. Leeds made a blistering start to the campaign and looked a real force in the Championship. Christiansen may have realised at the weekend he may have to make wholesale changes to his side as their are a number of fist teamers that are out of form.
