Professional boxer Josh Warrington has revealed that Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi will accompany him on his ring walk ahead of his fight with Dennis Ceylan on Saturday 21 October.

Leeds-born Warrington is a big supporter of the Whites and is currently preparing for an IBF Featherweight title Final Eliminator at the First Direct Arena.

The 26-year-old boxer has confirmed on his official Twitter account that Berardi and Danny McGuire from rugby team Leeds Rhinos will accompany him before his bout with Ceylan.

Warrington has described Leeds player Berardi as a “hard nut”, something that supporters will agree with.

Berardi is a huge fan favourite at Elland Road and the Leeds defender is recognised for his no-nonsense approach.

The 29-year-old full-back has suited English football since his arrival in 2014 and has now racked up 89 appearances for the Yorkshire giants.

He will be looking to finally get out of the Championship this season as they strive for promotion and has played seven times under Thomas Christiansen so far this campaign.

Berardi was involved at the weekend as Leeds suffered a 1-0 defeat against Reading and they are currently going through a poor run of form.

The Whites sit sixth in the league table and travel to Bristol City on Saturday in the Championship, the same day that Berardi will accompany Warrington at the boxing.
