How Tottenham should line up v Borussia Dortmund

|

Midfield

Serge Aurier (Right wing-back) – The first change should see Aurier handed his Spurs debut and defensive mainstay Kieran Trippier axed from the team. Trippier delivered a decent display against Everton, but summer signing Aurier is more experienced on the European stage and would be more effective against Dortmund.

Eric Dier (Centre-midfield) – He looks set to revert back to a midfielder this season after filling in as a defender last season and he should retain his place after a very assured performance against Everton.

Mousa Dembele (Centre-midfield) – The second change should see Dembele come into the starting XI and replace team-mate Moussa Sissoko, despite the latter performing very well at the weekend. Dembele is a much more assured football and his physical presence will be key in winning the midfield battle over Dortmund.

Ben Davies (Left wing-back) – The Welshman continues to impress in the absence of the injured Danny Rose and is the best choice available for the Champions League, where he needs to show the same attacking intent he does in the Premier League.
