Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe has warned that his side’s defeat to Millwall will only be a negative result if they don’t learn from it.

The Whites suffered their first loss of the campaign on Saturday as they fell to a 1-0 away loss at Millwall, but were completely dominated by the London club.

Thomas Christiansen tasted defeat for the first time since his summer arrival at Elland Road and will still be pleased with the opening eight games of the season.

The Yorkshire giants are top of the league on goal difference and have managed to put last season’s seventh-placed finish behind them.

Roofe, who was used as a second-half substitute against Millwall, claims that Leeds need learn from their weekend defeat.

“Disappointing result but it’s only a negative if we don’t learn from it plus the Leeds fans never fail to produce,” Roofe wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Leeds were outfought by a spirited Millwall side at The Den and were unable to get to grips with the pace and physicality.

However, they will be able to try redeem themselves against Burnley in the League Cup in the week and then at home to Ipswich in their next league encounter.

OPINION

Leeds fell to their first defeat of the season at the weekend and they already knew how competitive the Championship is. However, Christiansen has enjoyed a flying start to life in English football and it’s crucial he now gets a reaction in the next couple of games. It is a brilliant start by the Whites, but they must now capitalise to ensure they are in the promotion picture. Leeds have three tough looking fixtures as they welcome Ipswich to Elland Road, before visits to Cardiff and then Sheffield Wednesday which could really define their season.
