Leeds United are expected to make wholesale changes for their Championship clash against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Christiansen made five alterations for the midweek trip to Cardiff City but they backfired as United were overwhelmed in the opening period and ultimately fell to a 3-1 defeat.

The manager is likely to make a raft of changes for the Yorkshire derby in a bid to get Leeds’ promotion bid back on track after they sank to their second consecutive league away loss on Tuesday night.

One player who will definitely miss out is skipper Liam Cooper, who will serve a one-match suspension after receiving two yellow cards culminating in his sending-off against Cardiff.

Christiansen must decide who should partner Pontus Jansson in the centre of defence against 14th placed Wednesday, who have lost their last two Championship fixtures.

This Is Futbol has identified the expected team Christiansen selects against Wednesday, including three mainstays of 2017-18 who are set for the axe in addition to Cooper:
