Thomas Christiansen will be fully aware that a whole host of his senior Leeds stars are only contracted to the club until the end of the 2017-18 season.

Rob Green, Conor Shaughnessy, Toumani Diagouraga, Eunan O’Kane, Liam Bridcutt, Souleymane Doukara, Liam Cooper, Stuart Dallas and Pablo Hernandez will all see their contracts expire in June 2018.

Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay revealed on his personal Twitter account that the club are in contract talks with midfielder O’Kane, while a number of other discussions are continuing at Elland Road.

The Yorkshire giants could lose all of these players under the Bosman ruling a year’s time, which will see the senior stars move on for nothing.

Christiansen has moved quickly since assuming the managerial duties at Leeds by handing deals to Ronaldo Vieira, Tyler Denton, Kalvin Phillips and Gaetano Berardi, with O’Kane likely to join them.

However, not everyone on the list is deserving of a new contract.

This Is Futbol believes Leeds must avoid handing new contracts to three players that are set to see their deals expire at the end of the season.
