Young Leeds goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell could be set for a loan move and League One side Oldham are one of the teams targeting him this summer, according to reliable journalist Phil Hay.

The Yorkshire Evening post chief football writer reported on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday morning that the 20-year-old was being targeted by clubs with Oldham specifically named as one who want to bring him in on a temporary basis.

The Latics found success in bringing in 23-year-old forward Lee Erwin on loan last summer for the entire 2016-17 season and he managed to finish as the club’s top scorer with 10 goals in 40 matches in all competitions.

This would then mark Peacock-Farrell as the second Leeds player to have made the switch to the Greater Manchester club in a year if he does sign and there could potentially be a link brewing between the two clubs.

Peacock-Farrell himself joined the Leeds youth academy after being released by Middlesbrough in 2013 and went on to make his first team debut in April 2016.

However, the 1-1 draw against QPR remains his only senior appearance to date and with the signing of Felix Wiedwald and Rob Green already being in the squad a loan move may be the next step in his career.

But, veteran Green is also being linked with a move away to Premier League giants Arsenal, which could pave the way for Peacock-Farrell to break back into the first team on his return.
