Tottenham have been installed the favourites to bring in Schalke attacking midfielder Max Meyer, according to the the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the north London club at odds of 2/1 to sign the 21-year-old attacking midfielder this summer.
Premier League rivals Liverpool trail behind in second with odds of 7/2, while Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim sit on a price of 14/1.
Meyer is highly thought of in Germany and has already been capped four times at senior international level.
He was also part of the European Under-21s winning team this summer and has been tipped for a bright future after making his debut for Chalke back in February 2013.
The young attacker has since made 164 appearances for the club, scoring on 21 occasions while setting up 23 in total and a move to England could be the next step for the player who has one-year remaining on his contract.
Tottenham themselves have built up a reputation at buying young talent from across Europe in recent years and Meyer would certainly fit that quota.
Additionally, with the constant links to Everton’s Ross Barkley, manager Mauricio Pochettino could be on the lookout for an attacking midfielder this summer and young star Meyer could be the perfect backup to the established Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.
