With Newcastle United’s chances of bagging Norwich City striker Jacob Murphy seeming more unlikely by the day, Rafa Benitez should turn his head to find an alternative winger quickly.
Benitez has had somewhat of an unsuccessful transfer window so far, and has only managed to secure Christian Atsu on a permanent basis and recruit centre-back Florian Lejeune from Eibar.
The Toon boss looked confident in securing the Canaries’ winger, but after the club had their £8 million bid rejected and the club’s sporting director, Stuart Webber, told Norwich fans that the 22-year-old would only be sold on their terms.
It means it is time for the Magpies manager to look elsewhere.
With the club moving back up to the top flight, it’s imperative that the club recruit a winger who has experience playing in the Premier League to give the club the best chance at a top four finish.
