Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is interested in joining Newcastle United on loan, according to the Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the England No1 is attracted at the possibility of transferring to the north-east giants after slipping down the pecking order at his parent club.

The Mail reported at the weekend that Newcastle had made an approach for Hart, who has two years remaining on what is a lucrative City contract.

It is said that the 30-year-old also has interest from two other Premier League clubs in West Ham and Watford but is keeping his options open in case a position becomes vacant at another top-ranking outfit.

Two possibilities are at Manchester United and Chelsea, where the futures of established number ones David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois are shrouded in some doubt amid interest from Real Madrid.

It has been widely reported that Newcastle are in the market for a new goalkeeper to compete with current senior pair Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Wherever Hart ends up, developments are inevitable as the man who spent last season on loan at Torino is unwanted at City by manager Pep Guardiola even though he has been an integral member of a side that won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cups during his 11 years at the club.

Hart has also won the Premier League Golden Glove award on four separate occasions.
