Leeds have left behind a trio of senior players from the squad for their pre-season tour of Austria, according to a reliable journalist.

Phil Hay, of the Yorkshire Evening Post, reported on his personal Twitter account after landing in the country on Saturday night that Toumani Diagouraga, Giuseppe Bellusci and Lee Erwin were all missing from the trip:

He also states that Leeds’ new signings have all made the journey, where they will take part in a friendly match against Borussia Monchengladbach on Thursday, before going head-to-head with La Liga side Eibar on Sunday.

Those omitted from the tour have all been reported to be deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Thomas Christiansen, despite each having been involved with the first team during their careers at Elland Road.

Bellusci’s time at the club looks to be over soon, with Italian side Cremonese reported to be in talks over securing a deal for the 27-year-old, although Cuore Grigio Rosso claim that the deal is “complicated”.

Erwin meanwhile is set to depart the club on a free transfer despite having a year left on his contract, according to TEAMtalk, with Charlton Athletic, MK Dons, Oldham Athletic, Plymouth and Walsall all named as suitors for the 23-year-old striker.

Diagouraga is another who has a year remaining on his deal at Elland Road, but the Yorkshire Evening Post have claimed that the 30-year-old defensive midfielder is “searching for another club” this summer, having been frozen out of the first team.
