Leeds United have granted permission for striker Lee Erwin to leave on a free transfer, according to TEAMtalk.

The football news site claim that the Championship giants have given the green light for the 23-year-old to quit with a year remaining on his contract.

TEAMtalk report that Erwin is expected to move this week amid interest from a host of lower league clubs.

It is said that League One outfits Charlton Athletic, MK Dons, Oldham Athletic, Plymouth and Walsall are all in hot pursuit of the forward, who has a fine scoring record in senior football.

Leeds are willing to let Erwin leave the club without a transfer fee, but are demanding that a sell-on clause is inserted into any deal that takes him to a new club.

The four-times Scotland Under-19 international joined Leeds in the summer of 2015 from Motherwell, but has only featured 12 times for the club.

However, the centre-forward demonstrated his pedigree with a successful spell on loan last season at Oldham, scoring 10 goals in 40 matches in all competitions.
