Midfielder Andreas Weimann has confirmed on social media that he will not be playing for Wolves next season.

The 25-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to thank all those involved at the club for helping him during his five-month loan spell.

The Austrian is now expected to rejoin his parent club Derby County before the start of the 2017-18 Championship campaign.

Weimann posted on his official Twitter account that he is wishing Wolves “all the best for next season.”

The midfielder failed to break his way into Derby’s first-team on a regular basis at the start of the season as he only made 11 Championship appearances and failed to contribute with a single goal.

Weimann moved to Wolves on loan in the January transfer window, reuniting himself with manager Paul Lambert.

Both men had worked together and enjoyed relative success during Lambert’s three-year stint at Aston Villa.

The Austria international made an immediate impact at Wolves as he scored the winning goal on his debut in the FA Cup 4th Round 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield.

Weimann would go on to make 21 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Wolves ended up finishing in 15th position in the Championship, avoiding relegation by eight points.
