Kevin Thomson has praised Tottenham attacking midfielder Dele Alli and claimed that he could become the “first player to break £100million mark.”

The 21-year-old Englishman has been an absolute revelation since joining the North London club from League One side MK Dons in 2015.

Midfielder Alli has scored a total of 32 goals and provided 24 assists in all competitions during his first two seasons at Spurs and his performances have helped them become genuine Premier League title contenders.

Last season, Alli was named the PFA Young Player of the Year for the second consecutive year – Wayne Rooney is the only other player to achieve this feat.

Speaking with the Scottish Sun, former Rangers player Thomson believes that the Tottenham man is a sensational talent and he feels that he can become an even better player in the future.

“He is a wonderful player. They are talking as though he might be the first player to break that £100m mark,” he said.

“He is up there with the best.

“Without seeing his stats, he looks like he can sprint about the pitch for 90 minutes, which is an amazing attribute to have along with the amazing quality he has got.

“By the age of 24 or 25 he will be even stronger and I would be very surprised if Manchester United or Man City didn’t put a bit of pressure on him to try and sign him this summer.”

Alli is currently on international duty with the England national team as they prepare to face Scotland in a World Cup qualifier at Hampden Park on Saturday.

The midfielder did not feature in the reverse fixture at Wembley Stadium where England picked up a 3-0 victory because he was out of action with a knee injury.

The Spurs man has scored two goals in 17 appearances for England since making his international debut in 2015.
