Leeds youngster Tom Pearce has signed a new contract with the club, his management company have confirmed.

First Eleven Sports posted a message on their Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that showed Pearce, 19, putting pen to paper at Elland Road.

The management company uploaded an image of Pearce and accompanied it with a congratulatory message to the player on “signing your new deal” and wished him all the best.

The teenager, who arrived at Leeds from Everton in 2014, has penned a new deal just 12 months since the club announced on their official website that he had signed his first professional contract.

Pearce, a left-footer who is equally as comfortable playing at full-back or on the wing, agreed a one-year deal at that point when he progressed from the academy to the professional ranks.

He has now committed his future to the Championship club, although the length of the deal is not yet confirmed.

Pearce was a regular for Leeds Under-18s in 2015-16 before progressing to the Under-23s that was managed by Jason Blunt last season.

Blunt has quit to manage Cornish non-league outfit Mousehole, but it appears that the Yorkshire giants still have high hopes for Pearce.
