HJK Helsinki striker Alfredo Morelos is set to arrive at Rangers to complete a medical ahead of his proposed move to the club, according to the Express.

The newspaper claim that the Scottish club have already agreed a £1million deal for the 20-year-old, and that he will join Rangers on a three-year contract.

However, the deal is still subject to a medical and to work permit clearances, with Morelos yet to feature at senior level for the Colombia national team.

Morelos was in fine form for HJK Helsinki last season, netting 21 goals from 25 appearances in all competitions, including four goals from six matches in the Europa League qualifying stages.

The young goalscorer only arrived at the Finland-based outfit on a permanent deal during the January transfer window, but Pedro Caixinha has rushed to cut short his stay and bring him to Ibrox this summer.

The Scottish Sun claim that Morelos was recommended to the Rangers boss by his assistant coach Jonatan Johansson, who made over 100 appearances for the Finland national team during his professional career.

But with Morelos set to fly to Glasglow to complete a medical at the club, Rangers are on the brink of completing their sixth summer signing, as Caixinha continues his overhaul of the first-team squad.

The Portuguese has already added Ryan Jack, Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias, with deals for Carlos Pena, Eduardo Herrera and Graham Dorrans likely to follow before the end of the week.

A £1.3million deal for Dorrans could reportedly be finalised within the next 48 hours, while the club are waiting to make official confirmation on deals for both Herrera and Pena, after the duo were granted work permits.
