Rangers are hoping to complete the transfer of Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans within the next 48 hours, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper report that Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is closing in on a £1.3million deal that would see the 30-year-old become the latest new arrival of his summer overhaul of the first-team squad.

Caixinha has already added as many as five fresh faces to his Ibrox ranks, but Dorrans is one of at least four more signings that the Portguese is looking to complete in the coming days.

Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias are the confirmed new arrivals at the club, while Mexican international duo Eduardo Herrera and Carlos Pena have both been granted work permits ahead of their moves.

Meanwhile, HJK Helsinki goalscorer Alfredo Morelos is also set to go through the work permit application process, and is set to check-in at the Scottish club later this week.

But Dorrans would represent one of the more high-profile new arrivals at Ibrox this summer, given his previous experience in the Premier League and at international level.

The 12-time Scotland international scored six goals from 24 appearances for Norwich last season, having joined the club on a permanent basis from West Brom in 2015 following a successful loan spell.

He had earlier contributed 26 goals and 32 assists from 189 appearances in all competitions during his seven-year stint at the Hawthorns between 2008 and 2015.

But Dorrans looks likely to complete his transfer to Rangers in the coming days after Caixinha made a concerted personal effort to discuss a potential move with the player.

The goalscoring midfielder is under contract at Norwich until 2019.
