Liverpool are weighing up a summer swoop for Celtic ace Kieran Tierney, according to a Mirror report.

The newspaper claims Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has ended his interest in Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy, and he could now turn his attentions to the Hoops’ 20-year-old left-back.

However, it is said Klopp is also interested in Hull City defender Andy Robertson.

Tierney was a mainstay of the Hoops’ back line last term, making 40 appearances across all competitions.

The left-back was also somewhat of an attacking threat for his side, as he provided 12 assists and scored two goals.

He broke into the Bhoys’ first team set up in December 2015, and he has since played 75 league and cup games.

The left-back position is a well-documented problem area for the Reds, as James Milner was forced to play there for much of the 2016-17 campaign.

Alberto Moreno is currently the only natural left-back on Liverpool’s books, but a drastic loss of form and confidence saw him used sparingly last term.

Tierney is primarily a left-back, but he is also comfortable at right-back and has been known to fill in at centre-back too.

The 20-year-old has been capped by Scotland on four occasions, and he played the full 90 minutes in their 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw with England earlier this month.
