Leeds United are second favourites to sign Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Sky Bet have placed the Yorkshire side at 8/1 to secure the signature of the 26-year-old during the summer transfer window and brig him back to the club for a second spell.

Newly-relegated Middlesborough are the only other side in the race to sign Bartley and they are leading the way at 9/4.

Bartley is placed at 2/5 to remain at current Premier League side Swansea next season.

The Englishman signed for the Welsh club from Arsenal in the 2012 summer transfer window for a fee just over £1million, but the defender endured a tough start to life at the club as he picked up a thigh injury which ruled him out for the majority of the season.

Bartley only made five appearances in all competitions for the Swans during his debut season.

Since his injury, Bartley has never been able to hold down a regular place in the Swansea first-team and he has been sent out on loan on numerous occasions.

Last season, the defender joined Leeds on a season long loan deal where he became an important part of the starting lineup, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.

Bartley’s contribution was not sufficient enough as the Yorkshire club finished five points adrift the Championship playoff places.
