Charlie Taylor has reportedly agreed terms with Burnley – and Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express mixed verdicts.
The Mail claim that Taylor has settled the terms of contract with the Premier League club and is set to complete a transfer when his contract expires at Leeds on 1 July.
It is said that Burnley are close to beating West Brom to the signing of the left-back and will look to pay a fee of around £5million.
Leeds fans are mostly pleased at the prospect of their club receiving such a high sum for a player whose contract has just days to run, with many claiming the money should be reinvested to sign Elland Road academy product Jonny Howson from Norwich City.
Others point out that a transfer to Burnley would hardly have been the glamorous Premier League move that Taylor dreamt of when handing in a transfer request last August that was rejected.

Taylor to Burnley is a step up as he potentially gets to play PL football, doubt it’s the move he had in mind when he refused to play #lufc

Pretty happy with 5mln for Taylor TBH. Honestly don’t think he’s worth more than that. #LUFC backed up as only burnley willing to pay it

For a player that was linked with the top 8 clubs 6 month ago Taylor has the option on Burnley or Celtic. Poorly advised #LUFC

The Mail report states that Leeds are entitled to a compensation fee for Taylor even though he is ostensibly a free agent from this weekend.
Taylor is under 24 and a product of the Elland Road academy, which means Leeds are entitled to development costs from any club that signs him, with the fee to be decided by a tribunal if an an agreement cannot be reached.
It is now set to be the second major transfer negotiated by Leeds within days after they announced the signing of midfielder Mateusz Klich from FC Twente on Friday for a fee of around £1.5million.
