The influx of new Leeds United arrivals is set to begin with the signing of FC Twente midfielder Mateusz Kilch, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The regional newspaper claim that the Championship club have agreed a fee of around £1.5million with the Dutch club for Poland international Kilch.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report that the 27-year-old was undergoing a medical with Leeds early on Thursday afternoon after flying into the city from Krakow in the morning.

It is said that talks between the two clubs have resulted in an agreement and the path has been cleared for Kilch to sign before Leeds begin pre-season training next Monday.

The Yorkshire Evening Post are expecting the midfield kingpin to be the first of many new signings at Elland Road this summer as an “influx of fresh arrivals [are] planned” following the appointment of Thomas Christiansen as the new manager last week.

United have put the finishing touches to the permanent signings of two players who spent last season on loan at Leeds, with Hadi Sacko’s loan from Sporting Lisbon converted into a permanent deal and Pontus Jansson set to take up permanent residence at the club on 1 July.

But Christiansen made it clear at his unveiling on Monday that Leeds would be seriously active in the market as he explained that his desire was for the new signings to be through the door in time for the start of the new Championship season on 6 August.
