Arsenal have hired legal expert, Huss Fahmy, to focus on deals with current players after the club continue to struggle to clear up the mess of six contract stalemates, according to the London Evening Standard.

Fahmy has been the legal and commercial expert for Team Sky since 2010, but the newspaper claim that he will be moving to the Emirates this summer to work on current players’ contracts.

The Evening Standard expect the new arrival to focus on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez as the duo both enter the last year of their contract with the club.

In addition to the star pair, the futures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wojciech Szczesny, Keiran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere are also up in the air as their contracts end next summer, and it is thought that Fahmy will be dealing with these issues.

The former Herbert Smith lawyer will be the club’s second backroom addition of the summer and will join newly appointed fitness expert, Darren Burgess, who will be moving from Australian club Port Adelaide.

The new appointments suggest that Gunners’ chief executive Ivan Gazidis is keeping his word to fans after promising change at the club over the summer after the club finished fifth in the Premier League.

So far, the north London club appear to have recruited more backroom and administrative staff than players so far this summer, as Arsenal have only signed one player.

Left-back Sead Kolasinac was confirmed as the Gunners’ newest player a few weeks ago, after joining on a free transfer from Schalke.
