Unsurprisingly, the Rangers goalkeeper had very little do on his first appearance of the season, although he was called into action early into the second-half to parry wide a shot from Alexandre Karapetian.

The majority of the fixture was spent camped in their opponent’s defensive third, while Progres had very little to cheer about on the rare ventures into the Rangers half.

He will though, take some delight out of the fact that Caixinha chose to hand him the number one jersey for the new season over his positional rival Jak Alnwick.
