Rangers have completed the signing of HJK Helsinki striker Alfredo Morelos, it was announced by the club on Monday.

The Scottish Premiership side confirmed on their official website that the 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Ibrox club.

Morelos recently played in Finland’s top tier where he had helped Helsinki to the top of the table after 14 matches of the season.

The highly-rated attacker had found the back of the net on 11 occasions from his 12 matches, including nine further strikes in the Suomen Cup and Europa League qualifiers.

Gers manager Pedro Caixinha, who replaced Mark Warburton in the dugout in March, is making big changes to the Scottish club following a number of poor performances last season.

The Portuguese coach has already signed six players, including Euro 2016 winner Bruno Alves, who was one of the first players through the door this summer.

During his time in Finland, Morelos played 62 matches in all competitions for his side, scoring 46 goals and supplying 13 assists.

Now, the youngster is set to face a tougher test in Scotland’s top flight, with Celtic dominating the Scottish Premiership during the recently concluded campaign.

Brendan Rodgers team ended the season unbeaten, finishing 39 points ahead of their Old Firm rivals, who had to settle for third place.
