West Ham have added Werder Bremen hitman Max Kruse to their summer wishlist, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster claim on their website that the 29-year-old goalscorer is attracting interest from West Ham, who are on the hunt for a new striker ahead of the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Kruse was in red hot form last term, netting an impressive 15 goals from 24 appearances in all competitions during his debut season for the club, having joined from German rivals Wolfsburg a year ago.

But Sky understand that Werder Bremen have told the striker he can leave the club this summer, so long as their £10.4million valuation for the player is met by another club.

German newspaper Bild, meanwhile, claim that Premier League rivals Everton are also interested in the German international, but they are not named in the latest Sky Sports report.

Kruse has been capped 14 times at senior international level by Germany, but the last of his three international goals came during their victory over Georgia during a Euro 2016 qualifier in October 2015.

West Ham have already been linked with a host of big-name strikers, including Premier League duo Michy Batshuayi and Kelechi Iheanacho.

However, a potential deal for Kruse represents a rare low-cost option for the London outfit, with deals for either the Chelsea or Manchester City attackers likely to cost upwards of £20million.

Sky Sports had earlier a reported that Manchester City will demand £20million for the young Nigerian goalscorer this summer, and that he is not part of Pep Guardiola’s long-term plans.

Meanwhile, Bathsuayi moved to Chelsea for a fee of £31.5million last summer, and the Premier League champions will want to recoup as much as possible should they let him leave the club.
