Rangers are “confident” of a deal for Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans being struck, according to a Scottish Sun report.

However, the newspaper claims it is “unlikely” the deal will be agreed before the Gers squad returns for pre-season training next week.

This comes after Sky Sports Scotland reported on Friday afternoon that the Glasgow giants had made a bid of  “just under” £1million for the 30-year-old midfielder.

The Scot has been a mainstay of manager Daniel Farke’s midfield this term, making 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals, and supplying one assist.

He arrived at Carrow Road in the summer of 2015 in a £3.5million switch from West Brom, and he has since played 67 league and cup games for the club.

The dependable midfielder played more than 100 Premier League games for the Baggies during his seven season spell at the club.

However, now he looks set to return to the country of his birth, and where he started his career with Livingston.

This comes after the Daily Mail claimed that the Canaries had set an asking price of £1.5million for Dorrans and that negotiations between the clubs had been scheduled to take place this past week.

The 30-year-old has been capped by Scotland on 11 occasions, making his debut in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Japan in October of 2009.
