Ray Parlour is confident that Arsenal will do everything within their power to keep midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the club next season.

This comes after Sky Sports had reported that the 23-year-old is attracting attention from fellow Premier League sides Liverpool, Manchester City and champions Chelsea.

The Times also recently reported that the midfielder had already made a decision about his future and he intends to leave the Emirates Stadium before the start of the upcoming campaign.

Speaking to talkSPORT, former Arsenal man Parlour believes that the Gunners will be urging the midfielder not the leave the Emirates Stadium but admits that the player will have the final say on the matter.

“The club will definitely try and keep him,” he said.

“He is a key player and these days you need big squads so I’m sure Arsene Wenger will be sitting down with his agent and trying to sign him up, but it is up to Oxlade-Chamberlain. These guys want to play.”

The England international produced some impressive displays for the North London club last season, contributing with six goals and 11 assists in all competitions.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was instrumental for the Gunners especially during the closing stages of the season as manager Arsene Wenger decided to deploy him in the full-back position.

The Englishman shone in his new position and his contribution helped the Gunners secure a third FA Cup trophy in just four seasons as they beat Chelsea in the final at the end of May.

Arsenal will be hoping that Oxlade-Chamberlain decides to stay at the Emirates Stadium and help them mount a serious title challenge next season.
