Mexican midfielder Carlos Pena has been pictured on his way to Scotland ahead of his prospective move to Rangers.

Mexican sports magazine Marca Claro published a picture of the 27-year-old as he waited for a flight which would take him to Glasgow from Mexico City, having sorted out his personal arrangements in Leon, the side which he will sign for Rangers from.

The picture was also used by the Scottish Sun, who showed it on their sports Twitter account.

The move comes after news from the Scottish Sun that Rangers named both Pena and his international team mate Eduardo Herrera on their list of players eligible to take part in their Europa League qualifying tie against Luxembourg side Progres Niederkorn.

The moves for both Pena and Herrera have been held up as a result of the duo requiring visas to work in the country.

They have both reportedly completed medicals and arranged personal terms with the club, and it appears that they will be thrown straight into the first team for their European clash in just over a week.

They will join Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso, Daniel Candeias and Alfredo Morelos as new recruits at Ibrox, as manager Pedro Caixinha has wasted no time in building a new squad during his first transfer window in charge.
