Arsenal ace Laurent Koscielny looks to have committed his future to the North London club amid interest from Marseille.

The Sun has previously claimed that the 31-year-old centre-back is Marseille’s top summer transfer target, and they have “sounded out” the player’s interest in a return to his homeland.

It was said that it would take a bid in excess of £30million to prise the Frenchman away from North London, as he is still under contract at the club for another three years.

However, Koscielny seems to have poured cold water on the speculation linking him to the Ligue 1 giants in an interview with French broadcaster Telefoot.

“I have a contract with Arsenal, I even signed an extension last November until 2020. I feel very good over there,” he said.

“I have always said that I was a Marseille fan when I was younger. When a mythical club like Marseille contact you, it is good. But will I sign for them? I have no idea at all.”

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will be overjoyed to hear Koscielny’s comments, as he will need his number one centre-back at the club if they are to mount a serious title challenge next season.

The 31-year-old was a mainstay in Arsenal’s back line last term, making 43 appearances in all competitions.

He arrived at the Emirates in the summer of 2010 after a £10million switch from FC Lorient, and he has since played 291 league and cup games for the club.

Koscielny has been capped by France on 45 occasions, and he played the full 90 minutes of their 2-1 World Cup defeat to Sweden on Friday night.
